The game has many features that are found in most entertaining games. My game features some of these for example:
- A simple respawn system which will reset the player to the start of the level. It allows the player to easily replay the level. It adds a layer of repeatability to the game which allows me to create a more fun and interesting game.
- A checkpoint system that allows the player to respawn at their reached checkpoint as well as having a visual cue that shows when a player has reached the checkpoint. It allows the game to have much more interest because of the use of colours and lights to show checkpoints. This is a key component to most successful games such as Mario and Karlson.
- A simple pickup able item that spins around and disappears when the player makes contact with it. This adds some more interest and purpose to the game. The pickups-able item allows the player to have more of a goal when they are playing the game and it adds more of a narrative that allows the player to enjoy the game more.
- A character with animations that allow the player some visual cue for example running and jumping. This adds a visual element for the player to look at. It also helps with the scale of the game and the level. As well as providing a customisable in the future for differ player appearances.
- Sounds that play when the player dies or jumps as well as background music when playing through the level. The sounds add another level of detail to the game making the game better overall and creating a much better player experience. Almost all successful games have this because it adds a polish and sometimes the sound is integral e.g Piano Tiles, Just Dance.
All together these features allow the game to be much more entertaining for the player. Allowing me to make a much better player experience that will make more people play the game.
